This year's event will take place in two parts:
"Balance Sheet of the Future - Assets in the Cloud" (Morning Session)
The morning session will take a look at the modern company where the true "assets" of firms aren't as easily identified by traditional accounting metrics. Heavy investment in R&D, more intangibles, and other hard to assess assets like "network effects" make comparing and valuing todays firms increasingly difficult.
"Searching for Direction: What do changes in Technology, Business, and Products mean for Quants" (Afternoon Session)
The afternoon session moves on to more quantitatively oriented topics. Panels will address the way factor investing via smart beta and the widespread growth of ETFs are influencing the markets. A range of CS experts will cover interesting new fundamental factors, accounting risks, and case studies in applying big data to forecasting.
